Public invited to meet the Country Music Recording Artist and former American Idol Finalist

New Berlin, WI May 24, 2010 – Danny Gokey fans will have the chance to see the country music recording artist and former American Idol finalist up close and personal when he stops by Wisconsin Vision’s Elm Grove store, 12876 W. Bluemound Road, Wednesday, June 2 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.   Gokey will pose with each visitor for a free photograph from Wisconsin Vision.

While fans wait to meet Gokey, they can spin the FM106 radio prize wheel for opportunities to win autographed copies of the artist’s My Best Days CD, Summerfest Concert tickets, Gokey promotional items, Wisconsin Vision merchandise and more.  Earlier that day, Gokey will have a private lunch with the winner of the Wisconsin Vision Meet Danny Gokey Sweepstakes and her five guests at an undisclosed location.  Before Gokey heads to his Wisconsin Vision store appearance, he’ll meet with Wisconsin Vision corporate employees.

Earlier this year Wisconsin Vision, the state’s largest independently-owned optical company, announced their two-year relationship with Gokey.  A multi-media marketing campaign featuring Gokey and including television and outdoor advertising began in late April.  The company has also actively promoted their Gokey association through their web site, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.

As part of the agreement with Gokey, who became known for his distinctive eye wear, Wisconsin Vision will provide the country music artist with up to 60 pair of Wisconsin Vision eyeglasses.  Gokey’s selections so far have included bold, colorful, rectangular shaped frames.  Some were Buddy Holly-esque and one pair had Transitions lenses.  All of Gokey’s glasses are Teflon coated; the industry’s best coating for reducing glare, static and ultra violet rays, and were made in Wisconsin Vision’s lab, LBC Optics, using the industry’s most advanced equipment.  Fans planning to meet Gokey at his store appearance will have the chance to see and try on Gokey’s favorite eye wear styles.
